According to Day Herald, the company has been putting all of its resources to the completion of the new "Uncharted 4." The arrangement was favorable to Naughty Dog, as the company already reported to have finished "Uncharted 4," days before its initial May 10 release. With the game being set to be in stores soon, Naughty Dog can finally focus on the development of "The Last of Us 2."

Furthermore, it seems as though that the company is not wasting anytime on creating the new installment. According to Christian Post, a former artist of Naughty Dog, Michael Knowland, was already working on some sample pieces for the upcoming "The Last of Us 2." The artist even went so far as to update one of his social media accounts with the said sample sculptures, he also indicated that the new work was in fact for "The Last of Us 2."

However, there is still no firm information or confirmation from Naughty Dog regarding the upcoming "The Last of Us 2." It is said that with the company just finishing the final touches on "Uncharted 4," it is still early to confirm other developments. Creative Director and a programmer for Naughty Dog Neil Druckmann even said that the priority of the company is the future development for the soon to be released "Uncharted 4." In an interview with Gamerant he states:

"All those things were left on hold when we had to come onto Uncharted 4 to direct the project. Our next focus is the single player [Uncharted 4] DLC and then, once we have enough resources, resurrect all those prototypes; see where we're at, see where the teams at, what they're excited for and go from there," Gamerant quoted Druckmann as saying in an interview.

Even if there is no known progress on "The Last of Us 2," there is a high probability that it may still be on the early stages of development. Fans would have to wait a little longer for any word for "The Last of Us 2."
