“Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki has descended in Thailand as part of his Asian tour. The 30-year-old actor left South Korea on Wednesday and arrived at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport on Thursday with throngs of Thai fans to greet him.

AllKPop reported that his followers were screaming their lungs out when Song Joong-ki acknowledged their presence by waving and bowing with his hands together which is the Thai way of greeting. He will meet the fans on Saturday, May 7, at the 4,500-seat Thunder Dome in Bangkok, expected to be filled with fans.

In March, Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha encouraged his countrymen to watch the 16-episode Hallyu which he commended and noted that the actor who played Army Captain Yoo Shi-Jin is very handsome. The prime minister then said he wants to meet the actor when he arrives in Thailand for his 2016 Asia Tour Fan Meeting.

At that time, Blossom Entertainment, the agency managing Song Joong-ki, said there is no specific schedule yet for the actor’s Thailand visit, although the star would likely meet the prime minister.

From Thailand, Song Joong-ki’s next stop is China on May 14 where he is also the most popular actor, thanks to iQiyi’s broadcast of “Descendants of the Sun” on its video streaming service. In Blossom’s Facebook page, fans of the actor from other Asian countries asked for Song Joong-ki to also include their places in his tour of the region.

Lilebeth Cadiente and Michelle Climaco Broquesa both invited the actor to visit the Philippines where he as a big fan base. Similarly, Soh Mei Ling requested that Singapore be included in Song Joong-ki’s Asian tour. “I believe it should not only be contained in China,” she wrote. Margaret Yong added Malaysia as she pointed out the Jeju Air, which the actor just endorsed, will fly soon to Kota Kinabalu.

Blossom assured fans of the actor that it would inform them of Song Joong-ki’s extended Asian tour of Singapore, Malaysia and other countries in the region not covered in his current itinerary.
