The Android Marshmallow update is available OTA or via the company's PC companion app, provided that users are in India. Reports suggest that it is possible that the electronics giant Sony is releasing the update in India in preparation for a global release date.

With the new Android 6.0 M update, users will get some great new features such as app permissions and Doze. Doze decreases consumption of power drastically when the device is idle or not in use.

The new app permissions allow users decide which app can access the certain features of their phone. Furthermore, the Xperia phones will get a redesigned camera user interface.

Moreover, the tech company is announcing a new messaging app that will provide access to stickers within apps. The Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z5 Premium and Xperia Z5 have already got the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in India.

If a user have got the Xperia Z3, their device may be eligible to run Android N Preview officially from the software giant Google. According to a Digital Trends report, Android N Developer Preview is currently available for Xperia Z3.

Owners of Sony Xperia Z3 or Xperia Z2 may have the Android upgrade available to them already. Generally, the newest devices get the Android Marshmallow update first and the oldest devices receive it last.

It is confirmed that the Xperia MS, the Xperia C4, Xperia M4 Aqua and the Xperia Z4 Tablet will get the update.

However, there is no information on when these Sony devices will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.

Meanwhile, Android N is expected to be released at Google I/O 2016. Google I/O 2016 has been confirmed to run May 18 to May 20. The search giant has already released the Android N Developer Preview (second version) that users can install on latest Nexus devices for early testing.

It is already available on the General Mobile 4g, the Pixel C tablet, Nexus Player, Nexus 6P, Nexus 6 and Nexus 5X, according to a report from The Verge.
