Everyone was shocked when Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes welcomed their second daughter, Amada Lee Gosling. Their second child was reportedly born on April 29.
No one really knew that the "Ghost Rider" actress Mendes was pregnant. It was the biggest Hollywood baby cover-up. A birth certificate of Gosling and Mendes' second baby was obtained by TMZ, which first reported the news on May 9.
The couple's second daughter was born at Providence St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica. The mother's name listed on the birth certificate is Eva De La Caridad Mendez, while the father is Ryan Thomas Gosling.
A picture of Mendes taken two weeks before she gave birth hinted no clue that she was on her eight month of pregnancy. Another photo of the actress captured at the "SNL" after-party in December 2015 showed no signs that she was on her way. That time, she wore a fully covered outfit.
The document also indicated that it was signed on May 3. It is unclear if Mendes stayed in the hospital until the certificate was signed.
It is not surprising to know that Gosling and Mendes kept the pregnancy a top secret, Huffington Post reported. The baby bump news was revealed only two weeks before her delivery.
Gosling and Mendes met at the set of "The Place beyond the Pines" where they played the role of parents. They began dating in 2011.
The couple's first child named Esmeralda Amada is 20 months old. Esmeralda's middle name is exactly the same as their second daughter's first name, which was taken from Eva's grandmother's name, Amada, which means "beloved."
Gosling and Mendes have not commented about their second baby news yet. There are no other details released about their newborn baby.
