Lay of EXO was said to have collapsed and taken to a hospital on May 9, Monday. Based on the initial reports, the singer was filming the Chinese variety show "Go Fighting" when he suddenly fell ill due to food poisoning.
According to Kpop Herald, the EXO member vomited on the set so he took a short break to go to the bathroom. However, while on his way there, the 24-year-old lad fainted. He was rushed to the nearest medical facility but was released just a few hours after receiving intravenous medical aid.
The singer decided to return to the set and he managed to complete the TV show's filming. Prior to collapsing, people on the set recalled that Lay looked pale and sick while shooting, but they did not paid much attention to it as the singer seems to be working just fine.
This was not the first time that Lay was brought to the hospital right in the middle of filming. In January, he was hospitalized after hurting his back while shooting a motorcycle riding scene for his Chinese drama called "Old Nine Gates."
At any rate, fans who were very concerned about his health condition used their social media accounts to send their love and wished him full recovery. It was already widely reported that Lay collapsed because of food poisoning, however, a representative from "Go Fighting" revealed that the real reason for his condition was exhaustion.
"Lay was completely exhausted. At the time of filming, he was also filming a drama and participating in a concert. He also had conferences and public service activities, so he was very busy," Soompi quoted the rep as saying.
The rep added that the "Happy Youth" singer had a schedule before the filming of the show. He finished his schedule very late and barely slept or eat when he had to pack again for the variety program shoot.
Lay is currently very busy with his solo activities in China that he missed many concerts with EXO. Unfortunately, his frequent absence in the group schedules was interpreted by many as an indication that he will be leaving the band soon, but such rumors have always been denied.
