The latest details for "Overwatch" will feature posivitive reviews for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions and new animated shorts for characters Genji, Hanzo and Soldier: 76.
Blizzard has officially ended the the open beta test for "Overwatch" this week for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms as they prepare to finish the final details of the game before reaching its scheduled release date of May 24. Several gamers who played "Overwatch's" open beta have stated positive results during its run on the consoles.
Digital Foundry was able to play the "Overwatch" open beta and stated that the PS4 and Xbox One versions are mostly interchangeable with only a "small additional layout polish" in the PS4. "Ovewatch's" gameplay works "beautifully" in both consoles, while the PC version has better effects and higher frame rates than it console counterparts at 1080p and beyond. The 1080p and 60fps in the console falters in occasion with both PS4 and Xbox One versions, VG 24/7 reported.
The open-beta for "Overwatch" features all 21 playable characters,12 in-game maps and four multiplayer modes. The game modes include "Quick Play", "Play vs. AI", "Custom Game", "Weekly Brawl modes", "Tutorial", "Practice Range", and "Practive vs. AI". Multiplayer modes will consist of "Assault", "Escort", Assault/Escort Hybrid and Control.
In other news Blizzard will be presenting several cinematic and animated shorts for "Overwatch" this month featuring chharacters such as Genji and Hanzo Shimada, and Soldier: 76 .
The event will take place on the Cinemark theatres in the United States on May 22. In addition, attendees will also get a behind-the-scenes look at the "Overwatch's" lore and storytelling efforts during a special developer panel hosted by Michele Morrow, Destructoid reported.
The "Overwatch" screenings will also be in selected movie theatres in Bellevue, San Francisco, and Plano. Gamers will also need to reserve and purchase tickets on May 12 in order to watch the cinematic and animated shorts.
There is also a teaser trailer for the upcoming cinematic and animated shorts for "Overwatch" featuring several characters such as Winston, Tracer, Soldier: 76 and many more.
"Overwatch" is scheduled to be release on May 24 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
