2 Confirmed Samsung Galaxy Note 6 Feature Upgrades on Release Date: 400GB+ Storage Space & BlackBerry-like Productivity Apps

Samsung is boosting its jumbo Galaxy Note 6 with giant capabilities, which according to the latest rumors will include the largest storage space for a mobile device and productivity-optimized applications. On release date, the sixth-generation phablet flagship will support more than 400GB of memory and built-in productivity suite similar to BlackBerry's. 

Sammy fans are expecting that like the Galaxy S7 before it, the Note 6 will also have a microSD slot that can accommodate up to 200GB of additional space. Speculations are also rife that Samsung's second flagship for 2016 will have a 256GB version as the South Korean tech giant already has the technology.

If true then would-be buyers of the Note 6 will have access to virtually unlimited storage space or more than 400GB of local memory, that is if users will insert Samsung's new 256GB EVO Plus card. According to BGR, the new memory card boasts of the biggest capacity so far in its class and offers premium features such as waterproof, temperature proof, X-Ray-proof and magnet-proof.

Using the Samsung microSD card will permit mobile device users to move around with their collection of digital files, which amount to tens of thousands of photos and music readily available or more than 24 hours of Full HD films on stand-by.

However, the Samsung EVO Plus card retails for $250 or roughly half the amount of most high-end mobile device. One alternative, according to BGR, is the 200GB SanDisk microSD at only $80. Any of the two will permit Note 6 users to bring their digital entertainment library everywhere they go.

And with the promise of nearly unlimited storage space for the Note 6, Samsung is also working to provide a mobile productivity suite that is equal to that of the BlackBerry Hub, SamMobile reported. The app collection will be known as Samsung Focus that will include email, calendar, contacts and memos.

SamMobile said that Focus is essentially a replica of the Google Inbox and the key feature is permitting users to work on their various email accounts in a single platform. The suite UI design and function will closely adhere to Material Design, the report added, underscoring the likelihood of the Galaxy Note 6 unpacking with Android N.

With the Galaxy Note 6 likely to unbox with Android N, Samsung is rumored to have scheduled the device for an earlier release date than the Galaxy Note 5 in 2015. Launch of the next-gen phablet could happen as early as August 2016 with reports saying that it will offer near-desktop functionalities.
