Hong Kong actress and Cantopop singer Ella Koon finally ties the knot with her better-half Juan-Domingo Maurellet during their “simple but grand” marriage rites on Monday.
After six years of romance, Koon and her doctor beau had finally decided to take on forever together as they expressed their marriage vows on Feb. 2, in time for the Love Month.
The Hong Kong-based multi-talented celebrity announced her engagement November last year and proudly revealed that the highly awaited wedding has already commenced through her record label Warner Music on Thursday.
"I'm married! I know many reporters have been running about because of my wedding, but to respect the wishes of both our parents, we had kept it a low-key affair. We seek your understanding," she stated.
Wearing what is rumored to be a HK$1-million-worth wedding dress, the 35-year-old actress continued to share her happiness and her gratefulness for her new husband's love and care during the years they were together as well as during the stressful days of preparing for their big day.
Despite being a family woman now, she vowed to continue her career in both the music and film industry.
According to a statement from her record company, the newly wed couple are overseas for their honeymoon, noting that they immediately left the country after the wedding.
However, the company's representative explained that the bride did not reveal their destination and kept a low profile about her wedding only that she applied for a month-worth of leave of absence to attend to the most important day of her life.
