The final season of “Person of Interest” is set to go with a bang. Its lead stars claim that Season 5 is the best one out of all they have done for the series. The coming episode, episode 4 titled “6,741,” is reportedly the best one this season.

While many were clearly disappointed after CBS confirmed that "Person of Interest" is going to be cancelled after Season 5, the show's cast and writers made sure that they will give their fans the finale they deserve. Lead star Amy Acker, who plays Root in the series, revealed that the coming episodes is going to be pretty exciting. Speaking to TV Line, Acker revealed that episode 4, set to air on Monday, May 16, has been described as one of the best episodes in Season 5.

Acker also shared that "Person of Interest" Season 5 is going to be "dramatically different" than what they have done in the past.

"There were some episodes that I got the script and literally thought, 'Are we on a different show?' There's one in particular - Episode 4 - that doesn't seem like Person of Interest at all, but people are saying it's one of the best episodes," she said.

Jim Caviezel, who plays John Reese, also cannot help but feel extremely proud of the way "Person of Interest" Season 5 finale turned out. The actor even went far as comparing the CBS series' finale to the popular "Star Wars" franchise. It definitely seems like Caviezel is quite confident of how the final episode turned out.

"By way of analogy through Star Wars, I'd say it's Empire Strikes Back meets Return of the Jedi, the way we're going out," he explained.

In an interview with IGN early this month, "Person of Interest" creators Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman revealed that while CBS did not announce the cancellation until early on, they had a hunch that Season 5 is going to be their last based on the reduced episode order. Rather than gamble on the finale, the creators decided that it will be best to end the story by episode 13.

"We were like 'Screw that. Let's give it a satisfying ending.' Let's make it as exciting and explosive as possible," Nolan explained.
