"Fifty Shades Darker" stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are still being rumored to have an affair with each other despite the fact that the former is happily married to his wife Amelia Warner.
However, Johnson's recent decision to surprise her co-star on his birthday heightened speculations that something is going on between the two of them.
According to The Daily Mail UK, Johnson placed several balloons in Dornan's car to surprise him on his birthday. Johnson then shared a photo of her co-star via Instagram.
"Happy early birthday @jamiedornan," she wrote.
Meanwhile, Dornan and Johnson will have several intimate scenes together. In "Fifty Shades of Grey," the two already had plenty of heated scenes on screen. But this time around, the onscreen couple would have more.
Photos from the Vancouver set already confirmed that Dornan and Johnson as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele will have lots of holding hands, canoodling, kissing and more.
However, Johnson was very quick to say that she doesn't feel comfortable engaging in sex scenes with her co-star no matter how close they have become.
While speaking with Interview, the actress confirmed that she and Dornan recently filmed one of their sex scenes.
"Yeah. I'm doing one today. It's not... comfortable. It's pretty tedious," she said.
The actress added that even though they are not really engaging in sex, the fact that they are simulating it for very long hours is what's actually very tiring.
"Well, we're not having actual sex. But I've been simulating sex for seven hours straight now, and I'm over it," she said.
During that time, Johnson was asked whether or not her dad knows about what she's doing in the "Fifty Shades" franchise.
The actress said that her dad definitely knows about what's going on set, but he's never watched "Fifty Shades of Grey."
The cast of "Fifty Shades Darker" are still filming in Vancouver, Canada. The sequel also stars Kim Basinger as Mrs. Robinson or Elena Lincoln, Eric Johnson as Jack Hyde, Rita Ora as Mia Grey, Bella Heathcote as Leila Williams and more.
"Fifty Shades Darker" is slated to hit theaters in the United States on Feb. 10, 2017.
