Microsoft has not said anything about the Xbox Two yet, but there are increasing speculations and rumors about the upcoming console that would be more powerful than the PlayStation NEO 4K.

Unlike Sony, the Redmond-based company is planning to release a full-fledged next-gen console instead of just an upgraded version of their current one. The Xbox Two would be a whole step forward from the Xbox One.

The new console would most likely have no problems running games ta 4K resolution and at frame rates higher than 60 frames per second. It could also have backwards compatibility with older titles and could maybe play them more smoothly than its predecessors.

Microsoft's Xbox Two would also have a vastly improved GPU that would be better than the PlayStation NEO, Gamenguide reported. Both would most likely have AMD chips but the former would have the more powerful one.

Since NVIDIA recently unveiled their new GTX 1080 and 1070 video cards, the pressure for console gamers to have better consoles have increase. Both video cards are faster and cheaper than the current GTX Titan.

The Xbox Two would at least need to be on par with the new line of GPUs for computers if they do not want console gaming to be left behind. Current-gen consoles have existed for several years now and gamers believe that it is time for an upgrade.

Microsoft could announce their new console at the upcoming E3 2016 event, Forbes reported. It is either that or they will announce a special version of their Xbox One.

Still, the company said that they are serious with their gaming console business. They could at least unveil their plans including the specs and features of the new console.

There are already speculations that the Sony PlayStation NEO or PlayStation 4.5 will be released in September before the PlayStation VR. They could beat Microsoft with the release of a new console even if it is just an upgraded version of the PS4.

Microsoft could still have the upper hand by making the Xbox Two have more powerful specs. Hopefully, the announcement would come at E3 2016.
