While it is too early for any concrete plot details for "NCIS" Season 14, fans must prepare themselves for the world without DiNozzo. It is certain that the show will bring new storylines that is expected to involve new characters.

In the previous episode, "NCIS" introduced two new characters, Sarah Clarke's Tess Monroe and Duane Henry's Clayton Reeves. Clarke plays the role of an FBI agent, who was recently transferred from Washington D.C. to New York City. As for Henry, he is playing the role of  MI6 agent.

According to TV Line, there are chances that Clarke and Henry will join the "NCIS" Season 14 cast as series regular. In addition, Mark Harmon has been signed on for the next two seasons.

As for Michael Weatherly, Season 13 finale will mark his final appearance. However, this might not be an end to DiNozzo's storyline. The character may appear in the upcoming seasons as a guest star. In a recent interview (via Deadline), when Weatherly was asked if he will return to the show, he responded: "I believe in the franchise of 'NCIS' very much. I would absolutely be open to anything and everything, including things that no one's even thought of yet. So the long answer is yes."

In Season 13 finale, the Naval Criminal Investigative Agency (NCIS) will continue to search for an international spy. As for DiNozzo, he will head out to look for Cote DePablo's Ziva David when he hears the news of terror attack at Ziva's farmhouse, where she was living.

According to the actor, the finale will make fans "finish the episode and then go back and watch it again."

"What happened for me in the season finale is that I discovered an aspect of DiNozzo that had never been revealed before, and it very much surprised me." He added, "I will say, in that scene, I didn't recognize Michael Weatherly at all and very little of Tony DiNozzo."

So when will the show return? While the network is yet to reveal an official airdate, speculations are running rampant. Considering the schedule of the previous seasons, "NCIS" Season 14 episode 1 is expected to air sometime in September 2016. Meanwhile, Season 13 finale is scheduled to air May 17, Tuesday on CBS.
