"Pokemon Z" release may not happen this year, and rumors suggest that the delay may be because Nintendo is going to release "Pokemon Sun and Moon" in the later part of the year.

According to Cross Map, "Pokemon Sun and Moon's" publisher, Nintendo, and developer, Game Freak, have already announced and confirmed that the game will be available in November 2016. The publisher and developer did also release a promo trailer to tease the avid supporters of the "Pokemon" video game franchise.

It has also been pointed out that since Nintendo is already set to release "Pokemon Sun and Moon," "Pokemon Z" may not see the light this year as it would be unlikely for Nintendo to release two "Pokemon" games with just a couple of months' interval.

Not only that it may not be possible in a timely manner, it is also said that it would not be efficient to split the marketing budget between "Pokemon Sun and Moon" and "Pokemon Z." It was also noted that releasing "Pokemon Z" in addition to "Pokemon Sun and Moon" may have a negative effect on the sales of the video games.

Since the release of "Pokemon X and Y" way back in 2013, gamers are anticipating that Nintendo would release another video game namely "Pokemon Z" that shall reveal the other legendary pokemon, Zygarde. However, fast forward to 2016, Nintendo is reported to be focusing on their latest addition to the Pokemon video game franchise, the "Pokemon Sun and Moon."

Meanwhile, according to HNGN, "Pokemon Z" might have been cancelled to give way for "Pokemon Sun and Moon," yet some are also saying that the game was just delayed, and that it may be available in 2017.

As of the moment, Nintendo is not yet releasing any official statement whether it has cancelled "Pokemon Z" or not, or if the game would be available in the first quarter of 2017.
