A recent report released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will lead to the recall of more than 100,000 Jaguar Land Rover cars in North America. According to the report some models of the car released by the luxury car manufacturer has brake hose problems that could lead to brake-fluid leak that could instigate accidents.
This is not the first time Jaguar Land Rover experienced this problem, years earlier the company was also forced to recall some of its cars due to light and brake problems. Initial investigation cleared the company's problems but it seems that the problem has once again resurfaced, according to Daily News.
To remedy the problem, Land Rover dealers all over the United States will give out free brake hoses completely for free. Affected vehicles range from models made between 2006 up to 2012, according to The Guardian. Additional investigations revealed that the problem was first reported way back in November 2010 however the case was closed due to lack of incident reports, Jaguar Land Rover also added that no accidents were accounted due to the problem.
The case was only reopened after an accident reported in November 2014. According to reports filed to the authorities, the accident was caused by ruptured brake hoses. In addition to this, Ranger Rover models made between 2013 and 2014 will be recalled due to vacuum hose problems that could cause the brakes to malfunction.
According to a statement issued by Jaguar Land Rover, dealers will only examine the problem and will only repair it if required.
Jaguar will also recall more than 4,000 XK cars. The reason for the recall is due to side parking light that automatically turns off after five minutes. Jaguar officials said that in order to fix the issue, a software update is needed. The recall will start on March 2015 and repairs along with the update will be offered for free.
