"The Walking Dead" season 7 cast members are already gearing up for another set of installments, but some fans are still not over the major cliffhanger that was dropped during the finale episode for season 6.

At that time, it was revealed that the villainous character Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) targeted one of the characters on the show and killed him or her off.

Since then, there have been ongoing speculations on who Negan killed. Some viewers believe that he killed off Daryl (Norman Reedus); while others think that Steven Yeun's Glenn is the one who made the cut.

Even though fans still cannot guess which character exactly died in the finale episode for season 6, one thing is for sure: they are not happy with the cliffhanger.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Robert Kirkman said that he's not sorry with the way they decided to end season 6.

"I'm not sorry that we did it. I don't regret that we did it, because showrunner Scott M. Gimple and I were trying to tell a story, and that's what we and the entire creative team decided to do. But it is what it is. We're working that much harder to come back for season 7 and make sure that the payoff is worth the dread of the uncertainty that we've given you over the months that we're on break," he explained.

Meanwhile, Kirkman previously said in "The Walking Dead" comics issue #154 that it wasn't their intention to piss off fans with their decision not to reveal Negan's victim just yet.

"The season 6 finale has certainly caused a fervor online. Some people love it. Some people are indifferent. Some people hate it. But we weren't trying to game the audience," he said.

Rather, it was their intention to make sure that the fans would have something to talk about while the show was on break.

A similar thing happened before the premiere for "The Walking Dead" season 6. At that time, fans thoughts that Glenn was killed off when he was really still alive.

"The Walking Dead" season 7 will premiere on AMC on Oct. 9.
