OnePlus recently announced that it is releasing its own virtual reality headset called Loop VR. Alongside its virtual reality headset, the Chinese tech company also unveiled its newest smartphone, the OnePlus 3. The device will be go against some flagship devices from major tech companies like the Apple iPhone SE, Samsung Galaxy S7, and HTC 10.

As part of its promotional stunt for its upcoming flagship devices, OnePlus will be giving away 30,000 Loop VR units, according to CNet. Those who are interested in getting one can apply through the company's official website.

Although the OnePlus 3 is specially optimized to work seamlessly with the Loop VR, OnePlus said that its last flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 2, also supports virtual reality.

OnePlus has a dedicated virtual space station headquarters which is aptly called Loop, and on it is where the company plans to officially launch its flagship virtual reality headset. Those lucky enough to get one of the 30,000 free Loop headsets will be able to tune in live during the launch event. Moreover, viewers of the event will also have the chance to pre-order the OnePlus 3 smartphone ahead of its general public release.

OnePlus has yet to announce the official release date of the OnePlus 3. On the other hand, the company has already confirmed that the Loop VR headsets will ship on June 6, according toThe Telegraph.

Regarding the specs of the OnePlus 3 smartphone, rumors claim that it will have a 5-inch display, a 16-megapixel rear facing camera, an 8-megapixel front facing camera, and the smartphone will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box.

Rumors claim that the OnePlus 3 will has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with a 3,000mAh battery pack. Regarding its storage and memory specs, the smartphone is rumored to be released in two different versions. One has 32GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM, while the other one has 64GB of storage and 6GB of memory.

Some tech analysts also believe that since the smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box, it might also have an NFC sensor in order to support mobile payment systems.
