Speculations are rife that the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update may be released soon for the Samsung Galaxy A series, namely A5, A7 and A8. The Samsung Galaxy J series devices such as J3, J5 and J7 are also expected to get the update soon.

Samsung Galaxy rolled out the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update to just one device in its entire Galaxy A series. Samsung Galaxy A9 got the Android Marshmallow update in China.

The worldwide release of the Android Marshmallow update for Samsung Galaxy A9 is expected soon. Meanwhile, other A series devices like Galaxy A5, A7 and A8 are also in line to receive the update, according to SamMobile.

Samsung Galaxy J5(2016) and J7(2016) received the Android Marshmallow update in the United States on a few network carriers. Both the devices also got the update in a few regions in South Korea. The release in other countries is expected by June-end.

Samsung Galaxy J3 is yet to get the Android Marshmallow update in any country. It is currently running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 also has the same fate as Galaxy J3. It is also waiting for the Android Marshmallow update. There are rumors that the update may roll out in June for both these devices.

Samsung released the Android Marshmallow update for other flagship devices such as Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 5, Note Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Most of these devices will also get the upcoming operating system Android N upon its release.

Android Marshmallow comes packed with numerous exciting features like Google Now on Tap, customized runtime permissions, vertical scrolling, USB Type-C support, better booting animation and a new Settings app, according to BGR. The Doze mode and the new Standby feature also increase the battery life of the device.

On the other hand, Sony released the Android Marshmallow update for its Xperia range of devices. However, customers complained of numerous bugs in the update. Sony reacted quickly to the complaints and issued a security patch, which addressed all the concerns.
