Apple will be marketing the iOS 9 in the same way they rolled out the OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard which acts more of a maintenance upgrade rather than a major update the results however were dramatic in terms of performance and better efficiency, according to 9to5Mac.

iOS 9 aims to repair the lingering bugs that plagued iOS 8. Apple's last update caused its users to complain various performance issues from slow Wi-Fi connection, faster draining of battery, screen rotation problems, Bluetooth connectivity issues and many more, according to MacRumors.

The succeeding iOS 8 patches from 8.1.1, 8.1.2 and 8.1.3 have all tried to remedy the problems but did not successfully fixed all the issues and Apple users are all hoping that the newest update would finally laid these bugs to rest.

Another area Apple is focusing on is how to reduce the amount of storage space that gets eaten up for its operating system. This is one of the major complain of Apple users especially those who own the 16GB devices saying that there not much space left for storage after a major iOS update. The slow transition rate from iOS 7 to iOS 8 was mainly attributed to the fact that it will eat up more than 2GB of storage space.

Apple has yet to confirm the release of its newest OS but internet activities has somehow cemented the fact that the company is in full-crunch mode in the development stage. According to MacRumors, Apple IP addresses using the new OS have increased traffic activities in the past months.

Aside from major bug fixes and performance upgrades many analysts predicts that the new OS will also come in with some handy apps. Some of the rumored features to be added are transit directions, indoor mapping feature for Maps and a possible split-screen multitasking feature for iPad.

iOS 9 will be announced most probably during the Worldwide Developers Conference to be held in June.
