Samsung could actually use a 4K display instead for the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Edge as new leaked images show the Bio Blue screen tech that is expected to be used for the smartphone.

Earlier reports have claimed that the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Edge will only feature a 2K screen and the 4K screen would be featured in the Galaxy Note 6 instead. The new images now show the screens that can be used in the new flagship phones from Samsung in 2017.

The South Korean tech giant is already known for their high-resolution OLED smart TVs and it is not entirely impossible that they could be developing a smaller scale tech for their smartphones. In addition, the UHD resolution is slowly becoming the standard even in PC monitors.

Samsung could use the Bio Blue technology on the Galaxy S8 for a 4K screen with an unbelievable 806 ppi pixel density, Mobipicker has learned. The Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge could feature a smaller ppi number if it will have screen size larger than 5.5 inches.

The new tech is geared towards making Samsung's new flagship phone viable for "high resolution" VR experiences. There are even leaked images for a Samsung Gear VR gamepad circulating the Internet.

Leaked images coming from China show three different screen technology side by side for comparison. The darkest and dullest is the LCD, followed by OLED and finally the Bio Blue technology.

Samsung's new Bio Blue screen tech could feature up to five times lower blue light levels of just six percent, Digital Spy reported. It would make VR experiences give less strain for the eyes despite longer durations of using the Galaxy S8.

Besides the 4K screen with 806 ppi pixel density, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge is also expected to pack 6GB RAM. The company recently unveiled a new LPDDR4 memory module which is also expected to be used in the Galaxy Note 6 Edge.

Screen size and resolution are both common factors for choosing a smartphone. More users could choose the new flagship phones next year because of the technology.

Samsung is expected to reveal the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Edge later this year. Fans will finally be able to know whether it will have the Bio Blue 4K screen with 806 ppi.
