Episode 5 left viewers in shock and depression as Summer, The Three-Eyed Raven, The Children of the Forest and Hodor died in helping Meera and Bran escape from the White Walkers. The question which may have popped in the viewers' mind while watching episode 5 is, why would the Night King want to kill Bran? There is a fan theory pointing out that Bran may be Brandon "The Builder" who built the wall.

That fact alone automatically explains why the Night King is very keen in killing Bran. A fan theory suggested that Bran Stark may actually be Brandon The Builder, founder of House Stark and one of the first commanders of the Night's Watch, Romper reported.

This possibility may have left an impression at the Night King that Bran is actually Brandon who built the wall which presently separates Westeros from the Night Walkers. This gives him enough reason for wanting to kill Bran because if he succeeds in terminating the Stark boy, there would be no wall existing and White Walkers can freely pass through Westeros.

This could be highly possible as the Night King is a highly intellectual creature with a mind of his own. It can be recalled that a scene in episode 5, Leaf was holding a dagger made from Dragon Glass which she used to create the first White Walker. That being said, The Children of the Forest are the one who created these winter creatures.

Towards the end of the episode, viewers were able to witness how the White Walkers killed The Children of the Forest who, in the first place, were their creators. This just implies that these creatures have their own judgement, are aware of their actions and can be considered as highly intellectual, Winter is Coming noted.

Meanwhile, a teaser for "Games of Thrones" season 6 episode 7 was released recently. In the preview, it showed a sneak peak of what may happen to Meera and Bran as they escaped from the Three-Eyed Raven's cave. There was a short scene where someone arrives to rescue them.

Will the two be able to flee from the White Walkers? Or will the Night King succeed in eliminating Bran? Watch a preview of episode 7 below.
