In April, online viewing of porn dropped by approximately 4 per cent while "Game of Thrones" Season 6 episode 1 titled "The Red Woman" was airing on HBO. Recently, the makers of the HBO series decided to take legal action after several clips from the show appeared on Pornhub, the most popular porn website in the world.

"HBO is aware of the issue and is in the process of getting material taken down from Pornhub," a spokesman told The Sun.  According to data from the porn website, the number of active users in the United States began decreasing in the hour before "The Red Woman" started and returned back to average levels only after four hours.

It appears that the HBO series is quite popular in the porn website. On the day of the "Game of Thrones" Season 6 premiere, searches for related videos and pictures of the characters in the HBO series increased by approximately 370 per cent.

The most searched "Game of Thrones" actress on Pornhub was Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen. She was followed by Natalie Dormer and Sibel Kekilli, who play Margaery Tyrell and Shae, respectively.

Many netizens also search "Game of Thrones" porn, sex scene and parody on Pornhub, which also has videos of porn stars pretending to be characters in the HBO series, including Conleth Hill and Lena Headey's respective characters Lord Varys and Cersei Lannister. This made HBO decide to pursue Pornhub over an apparent breach of copyright.

In other news, "Game of Thrones" actor Kit Harington recently claimed that male actors suffer from sexism just like their female counterparts. In an interview with Sunday Times, he said that there is definitely a sexism in the industry that happens towards women, and there is towards men, as well.

"At some points during photoshoots when I'm asked to strip down, I felt that," Harington explained. "If I felt I was being employed just for my looks, I'd stop acting."
