New details for "Injustice 2" will featured possible new DC characters joining the roster, a E3 2016 debut and release date of March 2017.

Several rumors are making rounds regarding a sequel to NetherRealm Studios' DC comics fighting video game, "Injustice: Gods Among Us" and it is being developed this year. According to French video game website Gameblog, the studio stated that they are working on "Injustice 2" this year and will make its debut at the 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo event on June 14-16.

NetherRealm Studios will release "Injustice 2" for the current video game consoles the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the PC platforms, and will utilize the same game engine used in developing "Mortal Kombat X". The studio aims to have "Injustice 2" launch on March 2017 and so far, no further details were revealed regarding the storyline for the sequel or as to which DC characters might appear in the game.

Several fans wanted to see more DC characters in the sequel joining the likes of such legendary DC heroes and villains such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Nightwing, Green Lantern, Lex Luthor, The Joker, General Zod, Doomsday, Deathstroke, Catwoman and many more.

Some of the characters that fans are hoping to see in "Injustice 2" are Supergirl, Static, Amazo, Poison Ivy, The Shade, Captain Cold, the Red Lantern member Bleez, Red Hood, Booster Gold and even the dark god Darkseid, Den of Geek reported.

Although these characters are not official been announced, fans are hoping to include more characters in "Injustice 2", both popular and lesser known and given the warm reception of characters like Supergirl and Captain Cold on the DC TV series, fans might get there wish when NetherRealm unveils the sequel at E3 2016 this month.

The first "Injustice" game was released in 2013 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the Wii U. The game was soon ported to the PS4, PC, PS Vita in a Ultimate Edition, and it is a free-to-play mobile app in the Android and iOS software.

The story of "Injustice: Gods Among Us" follows in an alternate earth where Superman became a tyranical ruler of the world and has subjugated the population under his will with the help of his personal army, the Justice League and several selected super villains. This happened when the Joker killed Louis Lane and destroyed Metropolis using a nuclear bomb, as result, Superman kills him and begins a campaign to make the world safe by any means necessary.

Batman is against Superman's ideal of " world peace and justice" and began fighting against him. This created the Insurgency which Batman leads to fight Superman's forces and free the world from his regime.

Gaming and comic book fans will expect "Injustice 2" at the E3 2016 event and its speculated release date of March 2017 for PS4, Xbox One and the PC.
