There was a recent YouTube trend, called by many netizens as stupid, in which young black men poured rubbing alcohol on their bodies, lit themselves and douse the flame with water. But in one challenge gone awry, a 12-year-old New York boy suffered burns on the body because he failed to kill the fire.
A new video posted on YouTube, which has become viral, showed a similar burning accident involving a Chinese man who lit a cigarette from a flaming glass with alcohol. He took a puff and picked the glass to have a shot when he accidentally spills some liquid and fire on his crotch, reported Daily Star.
The poor guy is seen jumping and trying his best to douse the fire with his hands. A friend is seen helping him extinguish the fire on his pants. The burn victim is heard screaming in Mandarin, indicating the incident happened in China.
The two guys were already out of the camera range, but the audio was still clear with a voice shouting, “Water, pour some water on it!”
Because it was just a short video running 44 seconds, it was not clear the extent of the burn, although the large flame was an indicator he definitely sustained some injuries.
Some netizens thought it was staged. One commenter pointed out on LiveLeak, a video sharing site, “It does look a bit fake since I’m befuddled how anyone can be so much of an idiot to do what he did, then hang onto the container of alcohol while he flung it all over the place.”
The Chinese man is not the first burn accident on the genital area while being filmed. In March, a female dancer performing a routine set her vagina on fire. In 2015, a man’s organ was lit by his angry girlfriend while he was sleeping after she found out he was cheating.
