Excited Rousey stated that she is looking forward to the issue and called Sports Illustrated as not "fake and plastic."

"They always seemed to use a lot more real women and as the years have gone on, I think that has increased and really affected how people perceive women and what they should look like. They use all kinds of body types and use real women, not genetic freakish gazelles of people that look beautiful, but it's a very small percentage of the population that looks like that," Rousey said.

The UFC champion shared a series of photographs from her shoot on her Instagram account.

""Chasing the light" last shot of the day... Literally worked from sunrise to sundown, was an honor working with the "veteran crew" I had an amazing day thanks to you guys :)," Rousey captioned her photo.

Rousey was a part of ESPN The Magazine's Body Issue in 2012. She was photographed naked for the issue. However, she mentioned that looked at both the shoot differently.

While the Swimsuit shoot was focussed more towards the athlete's sexy side, the ESPN Body Issue was more about the potential of the human body. During the ESPN shoot, Rousey made sure that her body was close to her "prime fighting shape."

For the Sports Illustrated shoot, Rousey said that she was a little curvier to look attractive.
