The First Lady may also use the services of her aide Leann Harvey in this regard, as the latter is expected to engage in an intimate relationship with the President's aide Doug Stampner. The First Lady will have the upper hand in this relationship and use it to further her political ambitions. Stampner is very loyal to the President but he may be the critical pawn in murdering the latter.

Harvey said in an interview to GQ Magazine that she has a very interesting role in the upcoming season. She also praised the script writers and said that she has an author-backed role in "House of Cards" Season 5.

Alternatively, there is another theory regarding the death of the President. The President is not keeping good health as he is suffering from various ailments, which started when an assassination attempt was made on his life. After the attempt, he immediately got a liver transplant but he is still very weak.

The stress of the election campaign and the tension of running the country and dealing with the numerous problems every day create havoc on his health. At the end of Season 4, he was shown to be very frail and thus it is rumored that in the pilot episode of "House of Cards" Season 5, he may succumb to his various ailments.

In other related news, actress Robin Wright who is also the director of a few episodes of "House of Cards" and plays the character of the First Lady recently demanded equal pay as the male lead Kevin Spacey. Wright feels that both the characters are very strong and thus should be paid equally, according to Huffington Post.
