ASUS is expected to ship the Zenfone 3 Deluxe to countries in the Asia Pacific with the new Snapdragon 823 SoC which could be more powerful than what the rest of the world will get.
The new Zenfone 3 series were just revealed at the recent Computex 2016 event in Taiwan. While the Snapdragon 823 chipset from Qualcomm is more or less confirmed for the upgrade, the other specs are not yet known whether they will be upgraded as well.
The ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe is just one of the many variants of the new series. There is also the Zenfone 3 Ultra and the basic Zenfone 3, which is targeted for budget-conscious consumers.
No release dates were confirmed yet but the company did announce that they will ship by the third quarter which is just a few weeks away. Some markets may get the new phones earlier than the others according to some leaked information.
ASUS could release the ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe by August in India, NDTV has learned. They will be getting the Snapdragon 823 chipset the same as what the Philippines will be getting as well.
Other specs of the new phone include a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 and an Adreno 530 GPU. The phone could be bought with a 4GB or 6GB RAM variant.
Another interesting spec is the 23MP rear camera with a Sony sensor, ChristianToday reported. It would certainly be a step up from the previous Zenfone 2 line which caught the attention of consumers last year.
Interested buyers could also choose from 64GB, 128GB and even 256GB for the internal storage. Of course, the Zenfone 3 still supports expandable memory through a microSD card slot up to 128GB.
The phone would also feature a fingerprint sensor which would work in tandem with the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow's Android Pay feature and added security. It will also sport the new USB Type-C port for faster charging and data transfers.
ASUS will be selling the Zenfone 3 Deluxe at $499 across the globe but the final price will still be affected by taxes and such. The Snapdragon 823 SoC could be confirmed by August weeks before the launch.
