"I mean, we don't talk every day, but I still care about her, and we stay in touch. I wish her well occasionally and she's somebody who will always be in my thoughts and prayers."

When their engagement ended, "The Bachelor" alum added that there was a time when he thought he would never find love again. While he remained optimistic that he will eventually settle down, by the things are going, he thought that it may take a while. He added that he took some time off just so he could let things heal and get back to normal.

Now that he is back on track, Soules admitted that dating is now one of his top priorities in life. While he has been extremely busy traveling, he said that he is still keeping his eyes open.

"I've met a lot of cool people and really great girls, but I'm just all over the place. I definitely -- my heart is in the position to want to meet that person," Soules shared.

The "Dancing with the Stars" alum admitted that he had gone on dates but it was nothing serious. He, however, said that he is trying to be patient, waiting for the right partner to come along.

Soules added that he is also not pining for anyone in particular. He pointed out that if there is anyone who caught his interest early on, he would have asked her out then. He also denied rumors linking him to another "The Bachelor" alum Amanda Stanton.

"I'm just taking it one day at a time. There's a ton of great women in the world and in this country, so we'll see! I just don't have anything really in the works."
