Statistics currently shows that for Tesla to meet its delivery goal it needs to sell at least 11,000 cars or risk losing its investors. The electric car manufacturer will release its fourth-quarter sales report on Wednesday.

At the start of 2014, Tesla announced that it is setting its goal for the year by delivering 33,000 Model S sedans. Based on the third quarter report released by Tesla it was able to deliver 21,821 cars which mean it needs to add more than 11,000 more in sales if it wants to reach its target, according to Market Watch. In 2013, Tesla managed to deliver 22,477 cars.

An analyst from Wall Street said that the 2014 goal is steep and difficult to achieve but not an impossible one.

Unlike other car manufacturer, Tesla does not release a monthly sales report. The company only offers quarterly delivery report and some analysts are not very keen about the company report since according to them it does not provide much detail and insight.

To make matters worse for Tesla, a recent report from Reuters showed that the company only managed to sell 120 cars in China for the whole month of January. Tesla has yet to offer a comment about this but this is alarming news considering the fact that China is one of the fastest growing markets in terms of car sales.

The report added that Tesla CEO Elon Musk is already on the verge of firing its overseas executives in the event that sales output will not improve. Additionally, two top executives in Tesla's China office has already left the company in 2014.
