It was a decisive win for head coach Dunga's side after they were held to a goalless draw by Ecuador in their tournament opener last Saturday.

Liverpool winger Philippe Coutinho led the Canarinhos' charge with a hat trick, scoring at the 14th, 29th, and in injury time. Beijing Guoan midfielder Renato Augusto struck a brace at the 35th, and 86th while Santos' Gabriel and Lucas Lima each scored one at the 59th and 67th minutes respectively to complete Brazil's seven-goal haul.

Les Bicolores was able to net a consolation goal at the 70th minute courtesy of a strike by winger James Marcelin of North American Soccer League squad Carolina RailHawks.

Meanwhile, 48th-ranked Peru pulled off a 2-2 draw with world no. 13 Ecuador in their second round group stage assignment at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Goal reported.

Manager Ricardo Gareca's side started off strong as they kicked off to an early 2-0 lead with goals from 24-year-old winger Christian Cueva and 22-year-old striker Edison Flores at the fifth and 13th minutes. Team captain Paolo Guerrero of Flamengo was busy making the plays as he provided the pass for both players' goals.

Los Amarillos striker Enner Valencia, who is currently suited up for Premier League team West Ham United, scored one at the 39th minute to cut the deficit to one at the break. Ecuador finally leveled the count at the 48th with a goal from striker Miler Bolaños off an assist from Swansea City's Jefferson Montero to salvage the draw and share a point in the overall standings.

The winner of this match will advance in this summer's quarterfinals and Dunga's boys are the favorites to prevail in a hard-fought contest.

The predicted result is a tough 2-1 victory for Brazil.
