Several weeks before the reveal, many videogame enthusiasts were speculating the possibility of Harington playing as the new villain of the new shooter videogame. The actor will stand-in as a motion capture actor for the digital persona that will also have his appearance.

According to Gamezone, game developer Infinity Ward is providing a dramatic shift in the career of the popular actor, as he is given a very important role in the realistic shooter game. He will be immortalized in the thousands of game consoles as an interactive digital character quite different from his TV roles.

According to the narrative director of the videogame company, Taylor Kurosaki, the actor is an amazing talent and a real professional actor, wherein he even stated in the company's latest press release:

"Our story is about an epic showdown of opposing forces, and Kit immersed himself into the role and truly became the embodiment of the enemy, the Settlement Defense Front. We can't wait for fans to see Kit play an entirely different kind of character."

Meanwhile, the Infinity Ward studio head Dave Stohl has said that the company has hired film director Guy Richie, specifically for the development of the character of Harington. The studio head said that the film director is a friend of the game franchise and it was another great opportunity to work with the director in this new project.

Far from being cast in a minor role, Harington has a good opportunity to prove himself, as the villain role of the franchise was played by Oscar award-winning actor Kevin Spacey in 2014. The veteran actor is currently the star of "House of Cards" and he has played various convincingly villainous roles.

From playing a likable protagonist on TV to becoming a villain in a videogame, Harington's character shift is something interesting for fans of both the TV show and the game. His videogame character, however, is expected to be less complex.
