Touch controllers for the Oculus Rift VR headset will be rolled out later this year. However, the Facebook subsidiary is already promising 30 virtual reality games to work for Touch, including 20 brand new titles. The other 10 games are VR games that were already released but will get updates to run on the new VR devices.

Some of the new titles include The Climb and Job Simulator, while tweaked games include Serious Sam VR and Rock Band VR. Oculus will also bundle a sculpting game named Oculus Medium.

Touch controllers track VR gloves in 3D space. It can also figure out what gamers are doing with their fingers, which makes it unique from other VR headsets including HTC Vive and Samsung's Gear VR.

Touch is an important accessory for Oculus Rift for many reasons. It helps the company keep its promise to provide full-motion control to gamers. It will also create a more level playing field with HTC Vive that is already bundled with motion controls, according to VentureBeat.

However, Touch also allows Oculus to improve public relations. Many VR fans have been upset about some of the company's past policies about exclusive releases and late shipments of hardware.

On the other hand, the 30 games represent a very small percentage of the gaming market and are not the cornucopia of titles that Oculus is advertising. It should also be noted that some of the top games including Wilson's Heart will not be released until 2017.

A large selection will not be available until Oculus starts releasing the hundreds of games for Touch controllers the company has promised.  It will also be implied later that many or most Rift VR games will support the gaming accessory.

In related news, Razer and Sensics have announced a $400 HDK 2 VR headset, according to PC Gamer. The new VR device not only includes a display that is as advanced as Oculus Rift and HTC Vive but also costs hundreds of dollars less.

The open source ecosystem will allow HDK 2 owners to enjoy VR games and media for agnostic (multi-system) hardware. Razer's goal is help more people access VR devices and content.
