Initially reported by the Milwaukee Business Journals, Harley-Davidson's senior VP of Global Demand, Sean Cummings gave a timeline of five years to start their mass production of all-electric Harley motorcycles. This innovation in the motorcycle industry is not new to some big competitors of Harley-Davidson. Victory motorcycles is also making their stunning electric motorcycle models like the Victory Empulse (formerly Brammo) TT.

Harley-Davidson's electric motorbike called LiveWire became the most talked-about electric motorcycle when it appeared on the movie "Avengers: Age of Ultron" that was driven by Black Widow(Scarlett Johannsen). Since then, the concept of electric motorcycles has brought bigger attention to all the motorcycle enthusiasts.

According to Maxim, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Mark-Hans Richer said that Harley's Project LiveWire can be compared to the first electric guitar made. He said, "The sound is a distinct part of the thrill," he added, "Think fighter jet on an aircraft carrier. Project LiveWire's unique sound was designed to differentiate it from internal combustion and other electric motorcycles on the market."

The LiveWire electric motorbike model still remains a concept and was never produced for local and global market. The company is looking forward to release their all-electric bike with the same concept in 2021. The full details and specifications of their Project LiveWire are less known.

It has been reportedly said that the prototype can run at almost 100 mph top speed. It can also accelerate from full stop to 60 mph in just four seconds. The ability of this electric motorcycle in terms of speed is not bad for a prototype.

As good as it may sound, this bike still has few downsides. A full charging duration of this bike will take 3 hours and a half and it can only cover a distance of 55 miles. If used in a high-performance mode, this can only cover up to 30 miles. There are still so much room for improvement with this electric motorcycle but Harley-Davidson is known for great innovations so increasing the power storage is not impossible in the near future.
