With "Zootopia" breaking box-office records in China in April, it would not be surprising that the operators of the newly opened Shanghai Disneyland plan to include characters from the blockbuster animation movie in the resort’s Mickey’s Storybook Express parade.

Robert Iger, president and CEO of Walt Disney, shared the inclusion of “Zootopia” characters in the Mickey Storybook Express parade at the Wednesday press conference in Shanghai one day before the resort’s formal opening, reported China Daily.

Besides the parades and seeing the Disney characters, one of the attractions of Disneylands are its rides. In Shanghai, the not-to-miss rides include the TRON Lightcycle Power Run, a roller-coaster-like attraction that provides high-speed trips when the grid comes alive “in a heart-pounding race for survival.”

Although the rides and characters are creations of Hollywood, when it comes to eating, food inside the resort is not limited to western offerings such as burgers and hotdogs. About 70 percent of the cuisine served in Shanghai Disneyland is Chinese food, 20 percent Asian and only 10 percent western in influence.

That means local visitors, who for now comprise the bulk of the resort’s guests, would not miss having rice, noodles, spring rolls and other Chinese delicacies they are used to. No less than Iger made sure that the sixth Disney resort in the world and the largest in Asia would have a distinctly Chinese feel, reports Bloomberg.

“We didn’t build Disneyland in China, we built China’s Disneyland,” said Iger. Besides the Chinese food, signs at the entrance and announcements are in Mandarin language, reported Bloomberg.
