Hello Games just announced that they have settled a "secret stupid legal nonsense" with United Kingdom's Sky TV over the word "sky" in their upcoming video game title No Man's Sky.

Apparently, the video game developer was secretly battling the UK company for the right to use No Man's Sky as their title for three years. Sky TV seems to have exclusive rights to the word but it is weird that there are hundreds of video games and movies with the word "sky" in it and they do not seem to be sued by the firm.

Some examples include Rodea the Sky Soldier and Kansai Sky Story for the Nintendo 3DS. One famous movie containing the word is Disney's Sky High which was released in 2005.

Videogame development studio founder Sean Murray posted the announcement on Twitter saying that they have settled the argument with Sky TV regarding the No Man's Sky title, IGN has learned. He added that it has been going on for three years in secret, which explains the fact that everyone except the people involved in the lawsuit did not know that the problem even existed.

It could have been another reason why the game has been delayed from its original release date in June back to August. However, Hello Games has already explained that they were still polishing some key moments in the game in order to meet their standard.

Delays in the multimedia industry are not at all uncommon just like with No Man's Sky. Sky TV was also to blame for the renaming of Microsoft's SkyDrive to OneDrive, Polygon reported.

Ubisoft's Watch Dogs and their recent Assassins Creed: Unity titles have been criticized for being too buggy. Valve is still quiet about their Half-Life 3 video game title and they could still be developing it behind the scenes.

The No Man's Sky open-world video game title will finally be released for the PlayStation 4 and the PC on August 9. Hello Games has not announced another delay and it is looking to be a solid release date which means players will be able to explore the land, water and skies of the game in the next two months.
