"One Punch Man" undeniably increased its popularity in a short period of time. The manga which is the brainchild of ONE was given new life with the re-mastered edition by the famous anime artist Yusuke Murata. And from there on, a 12 episode television anime adaptation was aired last year that sparked discussions and fandoms online, primarily because of the unusual characterization of the main protagonist, Saitama.

It has been six months now that the last episode of "OPM" was aired, and some fans are getting less and less enthusiastic as there are no latest confirmation and updates on the release date of the next season of "OPM." As a result, most fans rely on rumors and speculations with regards to the update and release date of the much-anticipated anime series.

Dominant on the Internet right now are two main themes suggesting the possible release dates of "One Punch Man." The first part of the rumored release date suggests that "OPM" will likely be aired in the latter part of the year, while the second part of the speculated "One Punch Man" Season 2 release date suggests that the anime would likely be aired in 2017, according to Otakukart.

However, as means of speculation, some fans fear that "OPM" might be canceled for release this year or the even the following year, for Yusuke Murata is immersed in a new project, according to Crunchyroll. Though there have been no specifics being reported, it has been said that Murata is making a new making manga for Weekly Morning that will be published on June 30, 2016. And this new workload would possibly affect his focus on "OPM" as some fans feared.

This would not be the first time that an anime illustrator has been immersed in diverse projects. However, with the intense demand for the next interval of "OPM," it cannot be helped for fans to fear a possible hiatus or an extended period of delay. But still it's too early to conclude on how the new project of Murata may affect his time and focus for "One Punch Man" anime series, guess we would just have to wait for the formal announcement coming from Viz Media or even from Murata himself.
