Previous reports suggested that the 2016 Nexus devices will come in two smartphone models with HTC being the maker. It is possible that Google will launch an improved version of the Nexus 6P - the Nexus 7 2016. Huawei is reported to be the manufacturer of the tablet variant, which is also believed to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled with 4 GB of RAM.

One of the upcoming smartphones is speculated to sport a 5-inch display while the other device will come with a 5.5-inch display. The Google Nexus 2016 will reportedly offer 2 TB of external storage via a microSD slot. Furthermore, the phone will feature a 12MP main camera and a 5MP front camera for selfies.

Fans were expecting to lay hand on the Google Nexus 2016 during the recently held Google I/O Conference. However, to the disillusionment of many, the search engine giant did not unveil the new model.

Reports have been rife on the upcoming Android operating system update - the Android N - that is believed to arrive by August. As a result, the next iteration in the Nexus lineup is rumored to launch alongside the new OS. If this turns out to be true, the upcoming Nexus device will release pre-loaded with new software features.

Fans should remain patient to see the new Google Nexus in a few months. For now, they can head over to Amazon, Daily Steals, or eBay to grab the Google Nexus 5X at a discounted price, according to Android Central.
