Without giving any confirmations whether these requested characters will be included, Boon nevertheless ensured that Wonder Woman will be playing a part in "Injustice 2." In an excerpt of Boon's interview with Game Informer, he said, "we haven't made any kind of concrete things; the game doesn't come out until 2017, but I think it would be a missed opportunity if we didn't do like a Wonder Woman movie skin or something like that."

Unfortunately, hopes of those who wish to see the Superdog in the game were easily put off, as Boon quickly responded on Twitter and said that the character will not be joining the cast.

Gamers all the more had their excitement rushed up after the recent release at Electronic Entertainment Expo of a sneak-peek teaser of "Injustice 2," showing Supergirl releasing a Kryptonian-like power when put up with Batman.

Boon also added that fans should also expect the coming of some guest characters who may not have been present in "Mortal Kombat" franchise, as fatalities seems unlikely to happen a lot in the upcoming game version.

Meanwhile, Boon shared with Rolling Stones that the upcoming "Injustice 2" is packed with newly designed gears, fighting costumes and weapons, which will most likely boost fighting ability of players.

According to Boon, "the major addition that we're seeing with Injustice 2 is the introduction of gear. As you level up, you unlock gear for your fighters, which can be used to customize the characters for the different modes. Each piece of gear not only looks different, but has distinct attributes that boost the skills of the character wearing it."
