The "Titanfall 2" downloadable content was made free because Respawn entertainment wanted to make the gamers happy with their $60 game purchase. There will also be six new mechs coming to the game, and two of them have already been showcased at EA Play.

The game company recently confirmed that the sequel of the popular sci-fi shooter video game, that all future DLC for maps and modes will all be free. Co-founder Vine Zampella told Games Radar that they are doing all this to make sure the gaming community of the video game will not be split, due to microtransactions. Producer Drew McCoy also told the publication that they want the players to trust them, since the studio also trusts the players.

According to the Express, the development team has also teased in a statement that there will be six new mechs coming to the game, and only three mechs are known so far. Scorch, which is a fire type of a mech that has fire type skills and it can force enemies out of cover, Ion, which is a laser focused type of a mech that is focused more of tactical battle, and the Ronin, which is a hit and run specialist that focuses more on short burst damages and speed.

McCoy wants to do the right thing, which is to trust the players, and to do that is to not sell maps and modes. If they do this, they might gain a lot of people who will want to try to invest in their work, and invest in the game as a whole. Zampella added that they have not decided on what type of DLC that they want players to pay, for now, but he joked that paid cosmetic items DLCs could be the replacements they are looking for.

Several game publications think that the game company is making a good decision with this new business model. In the past, different gaming communities were broken up, due to the fact that many hated paid map packs, and other type of content that were supposed to be freebies for loyal gamers. With this new move, they predict that the game company will do well, and their gaming community will stay loyal to them.
