It can be recalled that JTBC's "Two Yoo Project - Sugar Man" marks Park's first gig as a regular MC on a variety program. While speaking to a group of local reporters during the show's press conference on October 2015, Park had expressed her gratitude for being chosen as one of the main MCs for the show, stressing on how glad she is that she was given an opportunity to work with the best MC, the best composer, and lyricist.

"Since we already had a music producer and a lyricist, I wanted to include a singer," Chief Producer Yoon Hyun Joon told Soompi on why he cast the 2NE1 member as a regular MC. "I had met Sandara Park several times at KBS and did a program with her twice. She is fun to work with and has a good sense of humor."

The variety show aired initially on Aug. 29, 2015, as a two-episode special and officially began its regular broadcast on Oct. 20 at the same year. The show centers on the battle of two groups lead by comedian Jae Suk and singer-songwriter Hee Yeol, respectively.

Each team will bring back a Sugar Man, an artist who was a one-hit wonder, but has since vanished from the public eye. To relive their glory, the old hit songs will then be reproduced into new versions that will fit into today's music market by each producer.

Although the show received positive response from viewers and critics, the makers recently decided to end its run, mostly on the grounds that they started to come up short of candidates for weekly guests and also, in light of the fact that the show was only intended to be a short-term project, Asia Star News reported. The publication notes that the finale episode will be aired in early July.

Nonetheless, earlier reports claimed that the show's producers were currently preparing for their next project, along with both Jae Suk and Hee Yeol as the main MC. The unannounced show is rumored to premiere this fall.
