Actress Candice Patton, who plays Iris in "The Flash," teased that there is still hope for Iris and Barry, despite the latter's life changing decision. With the rumored Flashpoint arc being used in "The Flash" Season 3, there are a lot of possibilities up in the air.

"Fans are anxiously waiting to figure out if West/Allen has been erased. I think fans can rest assured, we've established on this show, Barry and Iris have a relationship that's destined," Patton told Newsweek. "They'll find each other on different timelines and multiverses."

However, Patton is also open to the possibility of their characters being paired with other characters, postponing their "happily ever after" for the meantime.

"I've never needed to see them be together right away. I've always been a proponent of letting that stretch out over time, having relationships with other characters...so that when they do get together it's meaningful," she added.

Grant Gustin, who plays The Flash, also took to Twitter to share his thoughts on what's to come for Barry and Iris in "The Flash" Season 3.

"Barry knows that talk and that kiss happened no matter what," Gustin tweeted, to which Patton replied in agreement.

Aside from the much talked-about Flashpoint storyline, there has been a lot of buzz surrounding Barry's relationships. For one, there were rumblings that he and Melissa Benoist's Supergirl character may get together.

In an interview, Gustin noted that Barry and Kara Danvers would make a "great couple" and that they had a "really fun dynamic" relationship when they did a crossover episode in "Supergirl" Season 1.

The CW president Mark Pedowitz had promised a massive crossover episode this year, mashing up DC Comic series "The Flash," "Arrow," "Legends of Tomorrow" and "Supergirl." Certainly, fans who ship The Flash and Supergirl together will witness that much awaited reunion.

In the meantime, "The Flash" Season 3 will return to The CW this fall.
