Almost a year ago, a couple created scandal in China by having sex inside the changing room of the Uniqlo clothing store at Sanlitun shopping district in Beijing. The video, after it was shared on Weibo and WeChat, became viral that the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) rebuked the operator of WeChat, Tencent, and the operator of Weibo, Sina.

The woman in the video is again in the public eye, not to repeat what she did in Uniqlo, but her photo in the sex scandal was used as advertising by a pub in Buzhou, reported the South China Morning Post.

According to BBC, the couple were arrested by Beijing police in 2015, together with three other people. The CAC also said then that Uniqlo, a Japanese retailer of clothing, could be fined one million yuan and have its license cancelled if it turned out the video was the store’s way of attracting more shoppers.

Now, it is no longer the woman in trouble with the law but the pub in Anhui Province, which the police and local retail watchdog are investigating for possible illegal activities.

The pub used the photos in advertisements which they placed in elevators and on its WeChat account, but it eventually deleted the image.

Because of the strict censorship laws in China, sex videos – like the recent one shot in a Shanghai hotel – become viral and are frequently shared. Fortunately for the woman in the Shanghai 2-minute sex video, only her naked back is seen, so there are less chances of Chinese businessmen using that viral image to attract more customers for another enterprise.
