Hollywood actor Mark Ruffalo took a quick break from his celebrity status by exploring Beijing's metro, including a quick ride on the city's subway, which the actor commended for being nicer than ones in New York.

In a series of Facebook posts, Ruffalo can be seen touring the city along with his family. In one photo, the 48-year-old actor snapped a scene while aboard the public transport.

The star captioned the photo: "Beijing Subway Scene. Not so different than NYC except nicer, newer, cleaner and about 10% the price for a fare."

According to Chinese website The Nanfang, Ruffalo brought his family with him in Beijing while promoting his new film "Now You See Me 2" as his son's birthday fell on the scheduled trip.

"I love Beijing, so I must bring him along," Ruffalo was quoted as saying by China Daily.

A photo taken at a local restaurant also reveals some light moments of the actor while on a work-related travel.

In another post, the Hollywood star is seen taking a picture with a poster of Tom Hiddleston as Loki.

In town to promote "Now You See Me 2," Ruffalo arrived in Beijing and attended the film's press conference on June 19.

The thriller movie directed by Jon M. Chu is the sequel to the 2013 blockbuster. It stars Dave Franco, Daniel Radcliffe, Jesse Eisenberg, Morgan Freeman and Jay Chou, among others.

Ruffalo is not the only Hollywood celebrity to have praised China while on tour.

During a promotional trip for the movie "The Revenant," Academy Award-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio praised China for its efforts in protecting the environment, saying it could become "the hero of the environmental movement."

Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. also once said that he was "fascinated with Chinese culture and loves Chinese movies."

While in the country to promote the "Iron Man 3," Downey was seen eating traditional Chinese delicacies at a press conference, The Nanfang wrote.
