Just as everyone thought that Armin already died in the previous episode, some fans are still hoping he has survived. Speculations recently surfaced that although the character's body has been severely burned, an unidentified person suddenly appears and rescued the former's body which prevented Armin from dying.
In a discussion at Reddit, a user has opened up Armin's situation, suggesting the character may have not died yet based on the image that appeared at the end of its manga's episode 82. Reactions from some users negated the tiny speck of hope emanated from the inquiry, saying Armin is obviously dead from the severe burns he acquired.
While other users dropped the idea of Armin being alive, some supported the inquiry and even released an image which showed a silhouette of an unknown person who was trying to rescue the fallen character. In the image released, the unidentified person can be seen crouching like a baseball player which suggests that it was trying to save Armin's body from falling.
Despite this suggestion, the possibility that Armin is still alive was still dismissed by majority of users. Some tried to explain that Armin's entire body was really badly burned, making it impossible for the character to survive.
While this was the perception of some users, another user pointed out that the first image released was soon cut off to hide the unknown character. Although the reason behind the act is still unidentified, some speculated this was intentionally done so that readers will not have an idea of the existence of person X.
Meanwhile, fans from a separate forum at Manga Helpers reacted with disappointment on the possible death Armin. Some expressed they have died together with Armin, as soon as the character was revealed to have died in episode 82. Despite the revelation, some already expected the tragedy to occur as it has been hinted previously in the story.
