Since the game will update automatically, owners of the Xbox One console and PC will not have to worry about the update's release. PS4 owners will have to toggle the automatic updates option first to get it, or they can download the update manually.

Another new feature is the new weapon placement view options, which centers players' weapons just like in the original game. Classic gamers who played the first original game will be familiar with this setting.

The SnapMap feature was also updated and fixed with the new update. The Original Author was added to the map info page to credit the author. It also added a timeout for players, who are away from the keyboard or console in the Lobby area.

The game's update has also fixed the different bugs that were plaguing the video game before. On single player mode, a bug that caused the Steam Friends' Ultra-Nightmare Helmets to not populate the map got fixed. It also fixed a bug that freezes the weapon wheel when opened at more than 142 FPS on PC.

In multiplayer, the update fixed a crashing bug that happens when the server has some connection issues.  It also fixed a bug that crashes the game a client suspends it while the lobby loads into a match.

The weapon balance has also been updated in multiplayer to make it fair to all players. Players can also customize their UI now, which has been implemented to show all possible unlocks. They can also check the settings for MP for the Cross Style option, which was added together with the new update.
