Samsung has not yet revealed their Galaxy S8 flagship smartphone for 2017 but the specs and features are already surfacing through rumors. For instance, it could sport a 4K UHD screen with Smart Glow.

The South Korean tech giant has recently revealed their new Bio Blue screen technology which is claimed to be better than their current Super AMOLED offerings found in the Galaxy S7 and the upcoming Galaxy Note 7. It could also be the next screen for their Galaxy S8 considering that the new panels will be used for next year's flagship smartphones from Samsung.

Another interesting feature that the Galaxy S8 would sport is the Smart Glow notification. The new kind of notification will be found on the ring of the rear camera and it could replace the tiny LED light on the front of the phone.

It is no secret that newer smartphones will have different innovations or gimmicks that would pique the interest of the buyers. For instance, the rumored iPhone 8 is expected to sport an OLED screen that would also have the embedded TouchID sensor on the whole panel itself.

Samsung's Galaxy S8 is expected to sport the 4K UHD screen with a resolution of 2160 x 3840, GottaBeMobile has learned. It would be the same as Samsung's UHD TV offerings but with a significantly higher DPI considering that the size of the screen will be around 5.5 or 5.7 inches.

Thanks to the new screen, the flagship phone would be better for Samsung's VR capabilities. The Samsung Gear VR headset would be great for the new phone as it would have more pixels even if the screen will be divided by two.

Smart Glow is already expected to show up in the Samsung J2 2016 edition before the Galaxy S8, Tom's Guide reported. Users will be able to assign different colors for the different notifications on their smartphones.

The feature will also be available for taking selfies. It will light up when the camera detects that the user's face is in the frame of the screen and if it is already focused.

Samsung has not yet confirmed anything regarding the Galaxy S8 but it is already expected to launch in March 2017. The 4K UHD screen and the Smart Glow feature could be unveiled in an earlier announcement in February next year.
