Many of 2015's food trends were showcased at the 2015 Winter Fancy Food Show, which takes place yearly in San Francisco. More than 1,300 brand new beverages and specialty foods were displayed there this year.

We probably will not see all 1,300 items sold in our local grocery stores in 2015. However, many of them could be, including the following ones.

Cruciferous veggies (e.g. cauliflower and broccoli) are hated by children worldwide, but they will be making a comeback in 2015. Some fascinating items include Spicy Pickled Cabbage and Broccoli Chips.

What exactly is matcha? It is a powdered green tea whose flavor will likely be trending during this year. It can be used for various items, such baked goods and lattes.

There is also peanut powder, an interesting item that is high in protein, but low in fat. It can be blended into smoothies and peppered onto various breakfast foods.

Gourmet snack foods are getting downright odd. The trending types include popcorn that is flavored with pumpkin seeds and chipotle.

Next, trending gourmet salts include a pink Himalayan salt. Pakistan is where it is usually mined, and it contains minerals that are missing in standard table salt.

Foodies going bananas about bananas will also likely happen during the next year. You can find them in new food products ranging from bread to ice cream, according to Yahoo.

Another trending item at the show was olive oil, which has become as complex as wine. The new olive oils are processed by using various different methods, with flavors ranging from "the sweeter side" to spicy, according to Bizjournals.

Finally, turmeric is a spice that is full of health benefits, and now it can be found in a juice. Examples include turmeric blended with orange, mango, and carrot juice.
