The Oklahoma City Thunder are mired in the most excruciating 24 hours of their team's history as Kevin Durant mulls his free agency decision.

The meetings with the other teams have concluded and apparently the Thunder got another meeting after the final team, the Miami Heat made their pitch.

There are major implications if the Thunder lose Durant. The biggest would probably be losing Russell Westbrook the year after. Thus, in what seemed like a panic move, the Thunder was reportedly making calls about Al Horford as Brian Windhorst of ESPN reported.

"The Oklahoma City Thunder have been making calls around the league looking to clear a massive amount of salary-cap space in a move rival executives believe is an effort to go after free agent Al Horford in addition to Durant, multiple sources told ESPN," Windhorst reported.

Horford was a former player for Thunder coach Billy Donovan with the Florida Gators and they won two national titles together.

It was assumed that Horford would demand the maximum salary (or something close to it) and one of the projected salary cap clearing moves was to trade Enes Kanter. This did not sit well with the Turkish center.
