It was just recently when the thriller drama series, "Bloodline," ended its second season on the small screen, and now, rumors are surfacing that the series may not be able to come back with its third installment.

According to rumors, Netflix is now opting to cancel "Bloodline" due to the drop of the recent season's ratings. It was said that the pilot season of "Bloodline" Season 1 gained positive reviews from the fans and critics, and did a good job at maintaining the interest of its viewers. However, "Bloodline" Season 2 was received differently, which led to the decrease of the show's ratings, Breathe Cast has learned.

The publication cited that Netflix has not announced a renewal for "Bloodline" Season 3, which led to numerous speculations that the series may have been cancelled by the network.

Meanwhile, the same publication noted the statement of the executive producer of "Bloodline" Glenn Kessler. The showrunner revealed that he and the team behind the series do not know whether the series will get renewed for a third installment. He added that they still have a lot of ideas in terms of the storylines of "Bloodline" Season 3, and that they remain optimistic that the show is going to have a green light. He reiterated that "Bloodline" Season 3 depends on the decision between Sony Pictures Entertainment and Netflix.

On the other hand, aside from the second season's poor ratings, another reported reason behind the rumored cancellation is due to financial constraints of the series' production, Christian Times reported. It is said that "Bloodline" Season 2 is not drawing enough money to the network. The filming location was also cited to be a factor of why the production halted the series because it is quite expensive, since the location is in Florida Keys where tax incentive is higher.

Despite of the loud speculations that "Bloodline" Season 3 may not be happening, fans of the series have remained positive that the network will soon decide to pick up the show for its third installment.

As of the moment, there is still no confirmation coming from Netflix whether it will cancel or renew "Bloodline" Season 3.
