"Women born in the USA have far larger breasts than women in any other country, while women born in Africa and Asia, particularly in the East Asian countries, have the smallest breast volumes," the study concluded.

Meanwhile, the study also suggests that a typical Caucasian woman born in the US has a mean breast volume of 1,668 ml. On the other hand, the highest quartile of Caucasian women in the US has a breast volume as high as 2,986 ml.

On the contrary, Filipino women have mean breast volume of 111 ml only. The highest quartile of women in the Philippines has mean breast volume of 179 ml. Therefore, they lie far behind the females in the US in terms of breast volume and size, according to ABS-CBN News.

While Chinese women were not considered for the study, women in Bangladesh, Laos, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam and Mozambique also had the smallest breast sizes. On the other hand, women from Colombia, Iceland, Ireland, United Kingdom, Poland, Canada, Venezuela and Netherland have some of the biggest breasts in the world.

The research team used 3D scanners to take digital breast images of the subjects. The digital images were then converted into numerical data consisting of the length of the waistline, shape of the breast, length of the breast line, breast volume, bra cup size, mass of the breast tissue and the location of the nipple.

The study did not include lactating or pregnant ladies and women who have had a recent breast surgery were not considered for research purpose. In addition, women who were not lactating, but had been pregnant in the past 12 months and those taking hormonal therapy except for contraceptives were not included in the study.
