"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 lead star Ellen Pompeo's character Meredith Grey is in danger of being killed off.
In season 12, Meredith hooked up with Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson) and even though they don't have any plans of making things official yet, anything is indeed possible in the hit ABC drama.
While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Kevin McKidd said that his character Owen Hunt will soon find out about Meredith and Nathan's rendezvous, and he surely won't be happy about it.
After all, Nathan previously dated Owen's sister before the latter eventually got into an accident and was reported to have died.
"That's going to come out, next season, I'm sure. I don't think Owen is going to be happy about that. He's almost becoming an official brother to Meredith. Derek was his friend. He'll be a bit territorial, to be honest," he said.
Meanwhile, McKidd also expressed his concerns over the possibility of Meredith dying when she gets into an official relationship with Nathan.
"Also, the last time Riggs got close to somebody Owen cares about, she died. He might be being a little irrational when he finds out," he said.
In other news, Meredith and Nathan's relationship may also not receive blessing from the former's sister Maggie (Kelly McCreary).
Last season, Maggie told Meredith that she has strong feelings for Nathan. However, Meredith already hooked up with Nathan before she found out about her sister's true feelings for him.
While speaking with TV Line, McCreary said that Maggie will be crushed when she finds out what has happened between her sister and Nathan.
"I think she's going to be crushed. Genuinely crushed. She expresses that a lot in the finale so when she finds out ultimately that it may not be a chance for her to be in love, I think she's going to be heartbroken," she said.
When asked how Maggie's relationship with Meredith will be affected, McCreary said, "I think that the next phase of Maggie and Meredith's relationship is going to involve them having to draw some boundaries around their relationship."
"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will premiere on ABC on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET.
